Geothermal energy can play an important role in the energy transition. It is sustainable, reliable, predictable and available everywhere in the world. However, the water that contains the heat cannot be extracted from the ground everywhere. It depends on the subsoil, the rocks and layers of the earth. To get a better picture of our subsoil, Energie Beheer Nederland and TNO are carrying out the SCAN programme. This involves seismic research and exploratory drilling. Wagenborg Foxdrill is also involved.

02 February 2024 Mixtank overhaul

Wagenborg Foxdrill's maintenance team recently completed the total overhaul of a mixtank. This tank has been used extensively in onshore well testing operations for more than three years. So it was high time for a major overhaul by the Foxdrill specialists.

13 July 2023 Inventive anode mounting solution for Caturix

Wagenborg Foxdrill's rope access team is about to embark on a special project: the installation of up to 288 anodes on the legs of the Caturix jack-up platform. The work is taking place at Dixstone Shipyard Holland's yard in Nieuwdorp, Zeeland, where the Caturix is currently undergoing a conversion.

16 February 2023 LEEA Full Member status for Foxdrill!

A while ago, Wagenborg Foxdrill achieved the Full Member status of LEEA, the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association. Recently, a surveillance audit round took place at Foxdrill’s offices in Oldenzaal, The Netherlands. An audit round which revealed that Wagenborg Foxdrill even exceeds the requirements for this LEEA Full Membership. Wagenborg Foxdrill was recently awarded the contract for a challenging offshore project: removing the derrick from the Dagda jack-up drilling rig. The Dagda platform is located about 50 kilometres off the coast of Congo, West Africa.
